Experiencing Scottish Gaelic from the inside out.
Songs, stories, jokes, passion, music.
Ten years ago, the first members of what is now called Kitchen Ceilidh gathered together to perform Scottish Gaelic work songs for a Hebridean Folklore fund raiser. Since then, our women’s a cappella singing group has continued to grow and share traditional and contemporary Scottish Gaelic songs at highland games events, at Robert Burns celebrations, in competitions in Canada, in elementary schools and university classrooms, and at the occasional house party!
Our love for these songs and the culture from which they come only continues to deepen. “Ceilidh” means a gathering for the purpose of entertainment; we are pleased to continue this tradition by singing at games and festivals through out the Northwest.
